A Spokesperson of the Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Dele Farotimi, has blasted those persons who says that Peter Obi lied when he said that there was no strikes when he went to the university.
According to Dele Farotimi, during the period when Peter Obi went to school, he experienced no strike action by his university. Dele Farotimi explained that those people who are saying that Peter Obi lied are those people who sees the student strike that took place during Peter Obi’s university days as a form of strike.
Dele Farotimi disclosed that factually speaking, it is correct for Peter Obi to claim that he experienced no strike action when he was going to school because the student strike that occured back then cannot be categorized as a form of the strike that Nigerian students are experiencing today.
Dele Farotimi stated that the strike action that occured when Peter Obi was in school was a strike that involved the students and not the Academic Staff Union of the Universities or the non-academic staffs of the university. Dele Farotimi explained that judging by the difference between the strike that occured when Peter Obi was in school and the type that is occuring today, it could be seen that Obi was right to say that he did not experience strike as a university student.
