National assembly speaker Moses Wetangula has today met members of clergy at his office in Nairobi for consultative talks on LGBTQ issue in the country.
The Clergy delegation was led by house of clergy association Dr. Elizabeth Thuita in meeting the national assembly speaker.
The assembly speaker said that Kenya’s constitution clearly states that the family if the foundation of society therefore LGBTQ is an imaginary which has no space in our society.
” Article 45 of the constitution of Kenya state clearly that family is the foundation of society. LGBTQ is therefore an imaginary formation that has no space in our society” said speaker Moses Wetangula.
” I had an opportunity to engage the Clergy on the LGBTQ matter when the house of clergy association led by Dr. Elizabeth Thuita visited my office this afternoon” added Moses Wetangula.
Mr. Moses Wetangula assured the clergy that he is committed to propel any legislation tabled in the national assembly against LGBTQ.
” I assured them of my support in championing against the ruling on the court in the met and committed to propel any legislation tabled in the house against the LGBTQ matter” added Moses Wetangula.
The visiting clergy thanked national assembly stand on the LGBTQ matter promising to pray for the nation.
