The APC gubernatorial nominee, Chief Uche Nnaji, has won his polling unit in Enugu State

The APC gubernatorial nominee, Chief Uche Nnaji, has won his polling unit in Enugu State and ward as the results of the governor’s and State House of Assembly seats for Enugu State trickle in on Saturday.

Nnaji, who is running to replace outgoing Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, received 74 votes in his Ogbashi Polling Unit 15 district, outpacing his closest rivals, Peter Mbah of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who received eight votes, and Frank Nweke of the APGA, who received four votes. Edeoga of the Labour Party received no votes.

Nnaji received a whopping 75 ballots in Ward 3 of Ogbashi Polling Unit 16, defeating Mba, Edeoga, and Nweke, who received 4, 2, and 0 votes, respectively.

Nnaji was projected to be in the lead based on results from other voting places in his ward and a number of other local governments so far.

Journalist attempts to talk with Nnaji about this development were unsuccessful because, according to reports, he was in contact with party leaders and agents in all other local government areas of Enugu State.
