Obi’s Decision To Go To Court Has Given His Obidients Hope That It’s Not Yet Over – Prof Jideofor Adibe

As Nigeria braces herself for the legal fireworks that are set to follow the controversial outcome of the just concluded presidential election that was conducted across the country a fortnight ago, renowned Lecturer of political science and international relations, Professor Jideofor Adibe has come out to explain why it appears that the supporters of the Labour Party candidate, Peter Gregory Obi have remained quite calm despite the unfavorable result they have received from the polls.

Speaking during an interview on ARISE TV’s ‘This Week’ program with Sumner Sambo a few hours ago, Prof Jideofor opined that Obidients have not taken to the streets in protests because they have a strong hope that their candidate will emerge victorious in his quest to retrieve his alleged stolen mandate in the court of law.

He said; “Peter Obi, for example, has said that he has no problem talking to Tinubu but it will not stop him from going to court to challenge INEC’s result. I think Obi’s decision to go to court is much better because it gives his supporters, the Obidients, hope that it is not over until it’s over.

This also helps because those who may have been planning street protests will be restrained from doing so because they will like to wait and see the outcome of the legal process. And you also know that time heals all wounds. The longer we continue to distance ourselves from the event, the lesser the inclination for people to take to the streets in protest.”
