Just days after the marking of Kenya Certificate of Secondary education commenced in Nairobi, reports of boycott and go slows have already been witnessed.
The just recent case is when examiners marking the Christian Religious Education at St. Francis Girls Mangu center downed their tools indicating lower pay per paper. Reports indicate that the examiners were being paid ksh 55 per paper as opposed to the ksh 75 that their fellows in other centres were being paid.
As a result of this, the government through the education cabinet, ordered for their remo from the marking centres and be replaced immediately with those who can work with the stipulated amount.
So far new examiners have been called to report to the marking centre with immediate effect. This now means that those who downed their tools are fired and the marking has resumed normally with the release of these exams scheduled to be any time from next week.
