Boehly Steps Down As Chelsea’s Sporting Director

Todd Boehly’s role as Chelsea’s interim sporting director has come to an end after the American stepped down and handed responsibilities to recent appointments Christopher Vivell and Paul Winstanley. This is according to a recent report from the Telegraph, who writes that Boehly has dropped his sporting director title and is now simply the club’s chairman. Vivell and Winstanley are now thought to be in charge of Chelsea’s transfer strategy for the foreseeable future.

Barca Want Pavard

Barcelona are interested in signing Bayern Munich right-back Benjamin Pavard according to Mundo Deportivo. Pavard’s current contract with the Bundesliga giants expires in 2024 and his agents are reportedly in contact with the Spanish club.

Forest to face competition for Danilo

Nottingham Forest have launched an £18m move for Palmeiras midfielder Danilo, according to the Daily Telegraph. Forest want to strengthen Steve Cooper’s squad in January and have earmarked a new defensive midfielder before the end of the month. The report claims Forest are in talks with Palmeiras over a move for Danilo, who is regarded as one of Brazilian football’s most promising young midfielders. They are not the only interested club, however, and the potential £18m fee could rise with add-ons.

Mateusz Klich to sign for DC United

Mateusz Klich is set to complete a move to DC United from Leeds United, according to MLS insider Tom Bogert. The Poland international has arrived in the United States to complete his move and will be a Designated Player.

Hearts secure triple swoop

Hearts have completed the loan signing of defender James Hill from Bournemouth. They are also closing in on re-signing Scotland international Callum Paterson.

Paterson moved to Cardiff from Hearts five years ago. His Sheff Wed contract is up in the summer, but Hearts are close to signing him this month on a permanent basis. Hearts are also set to announce the signing of Aussie international teenager Garang Kuol, on-loan from Newcastle.

OFFICIAL: Ipswich sign Broadhead from Everton

Nathan Broadhead has left Everton to sign for League One club Ipswich Town for an undisclosed fee. The 24-year-old forward joined Everton Academy at the age of 10 and made two senior appearances for the club as a substitute, earning his debut at Apollon Limassol in the Europa League in December 2017. Wales Under-21 international Broadhead spent the first half of this season on loan in the Championship with Wigan, having previously had spells at Sunderland last term and Burton Albion in 2019/20.
