The army commandos were being supported by a local militia group that is against Al-Shabaab, which also enjoys government support.
They overpowered the terrorists and rained bullets on them, killing at least 75 militants.
According to reports from national media in Somalia, the bodies of the killed terrorists were photographed and the pictures were shared on social media.
“The death toll of #Alshabab terrorists who were killed in yesterday’s security operation conducted by Somali National Army near Yasoman village in #Hiiraan region has reached 75, SNAForce’s Chief, General Odawa Yusuf told the media.
SNA has in the recent past intensified their offensive attack against the terrorists, killing dozens of them in every attack they have been executing.
