Amid ongoing public debate that has greeted the result of the just-concluded presidential election that was conducted across the country a week ago, renowned human rights activist, and former education minister, Oby Ezekwesili has come out to lament how foreign media houses are reporting on the outcome of the polls.
Taking to her verified Twitter handle a few minutes ago, Ezekwesili who contested for the office of the president back in 2019, stated that the harsh reports being written by international media organizations are the very reason why Nigerians must set a standard on the kind of leaders they want to elect into any public office.
She wrote; “Just read all those collateral insults from global media for our country and people, just because of one individual; and you’ll fully understand why we should set a mandatory standard of Character, Competence, and Capacity for anyone parties present for elective office.”
