The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, promised to reform and train internet fraudsters, otherwise known as Yahoo Boys, to become tech experts.

He made the promise on Thursday in Benin at the party’s presidential campaign that was held in the University of Benin (UNIBEN) sports complex.
According to the presidential hopeful, his coming into the presidential race is to create happiness and prosperity for Nigerians.
Tinubu said: “We will create jobs, we will turn this state into an energy state, we will turn the so-called Yahoo Boys into experts at the manufacturing of chips.
“If you want prosperity, elect me, you want skill to become rich, elect me. If you say go and retire now, you retire knowledge diamonds, and skills.
Wike, Seek Medical Attention—PDP

Nigerian Military Government More Sympathetic To University Education Than Civilians – Lecturers’ Union, ASUU
The President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Prof Emmanuel Osodeke, on Thursday stated that the military government era in the country was more sympathetic to the plight of lecturers than the current civilian administration.

ASUU boss made the assertion at the unveiling of 50 tertiary textbooks published by Nigerian authors under the sponsorship of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), on Thursday in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
He said; “Thank you very much for this honourable minister and all of us who are present here today. I want to thank my colleagues for raising the issues and I think it is very important. I will just say a little thing about what is TETFUND and how did it originate?
“In 1992, the union was on strike and negotiating; how we used to do then few years ago with Obafemi and co, and when we finished, the government said how can we fund it and we said challenge us, we will tell you how to fund this agreement. And they challenged ASUU, it didn’t take three days and we came up with this idea of TETFUND, which was accepted by government, then military.
2023: G-5 Governors Fail To Unveil Preferred Candidate
The Integrity Group of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), also known as the G-5, yesterday failed to reveal their presidential candidate for the February election as expected.

PDP slams speaker over Oyetola’s return comment
The Osun State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr Adekunle Akindele, has accused the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mr Timothy Owoeye, of betraying his oath of office and undermining the sanctity of state authority by declaring that the immediate past governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, would return to office as governor before July 5, 2023.

He spoke at the inauguration of the Osun State branch of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council in Osogbo on Thursday.
He said, “In 2019, the Supreme Court gave its final verdict on July 5, affirming the victory of Oyetola as governor. If you know them, go and tell them that before July 5, 2023, Oyetola will be returned as Osun Governor.
