Insecurity in our country is becoming a major problem. Banditry in the five counties of the North continues every day.
It is something that led the government headed by President William Samoei Ruto to order a security operation.
The Kenya Defence Forces KDF in collaboration with the police officers have been camping in the five counties trying to wipe out the bandits who have been causing sleepless nights to innocent people.
Sadly, today it has been reported that six people have been killed in the last 24 hours in the counties of Samburu and Elgeyo Marakwet. Among those killed to include an old man and a young child who has killed today morning approximately 200 km from the KDF camp.
In my view, the KDF need to change tactics as they try to flush out these criminals. What is needed here is a collaboration with the area residents who knows how these bandits are operating. The forces also need to use advanced weapons that can outsmart the firearms of the bandits.
