For as long as he is in office, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the president-elect of Nigeria and a member of the All Progressives Congress party, has vowed to end the practice of providing free food and other items to college students and to require authors’ names on all books sold to students.
After the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) proclaimed his victory in Nigeria’s presidential election last Saturday, the newly elected president addressed the nation.
Continuing, Tinubu said he will pay close attention to the people’s concerns. Afterwards he made a voluminous promise to innovate and work hard for the country’s betterment.
The availability of school loans was another of Tinubu’s pledges, along with an end to student strikes at universities. He continued by saying that academic institutions would be given the freedom to improve their own curricula as they see fit.
Listen to him, “There will be access to credit and to student loans for higher education. This 4-year program will actually be 4-years long. This is the end of the strike. All books must have authors and distribution must end “.
