Chief Dele Momodu, the Director of Strategic Communication for the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Council, recently discussed what a PDP-led government would do if elected, and how the party’s candidate, Atiku, could win the presidential election.
According to Momodu, to win the election, a candidate needs to win four out of six geopolitical zones and score 25 percent in 24 states. Atiku, he says, is likely to be the first to cross that line. With 19 states in the North and 17 in the South, Atiku is expected to get 25 percent in all the 19 states in the North and five states in the South to win.
In comparison, Momodu suggests that Tinubu, Atiku’s nearest ri, may only get 25 percent in one or two states in the South-East, and will find it difficult to control the South-West, where he is supposed to be king. Momodu predicts that three candidates will compete for Lagos: Tinubu, Atiku, and Peter Obi, and Tinubu will be lucky to get 30-35 percent in Lagos for the first time.
