Obi | The Guardian Nigeria News – Nigeria and World News — Nigeria — The Guardian Nigeria News – Nigeria and World News”/>Peter Obi seemed to be taking a dig at some of his main ris when he said on Thursday that that the country’s topmost office was not a retirement home to be occupied by people in their 70s and above, but a place meant for young and agile people with a passion for the country’s development. There is no doubt that Obi has be the most youthful of the top four presidential candidates and this may explain just one reason why the youths seem to warm up to him.
Much of Peter Obi’s messages are often geared towards youths and once again he urged them to take their stand and to take their country back. This came while he spoke at Ado Ekiti during his campaign in Ekiti State where he also emphasized the importance of commitment, capacity and character in the forthcoming elections.
It is clear his appeal to youth and agility may offend some contestants. He specifically frowned at people who are already in their 70s fighting to get into Aso Rock. The elections are less than 7 weeks away and it is looking like quite an interesting election indeed.
