Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has finally come out to break his silence on leaving the opposition coalition, Azimio la umoja One Kenya coalition party. This is after being cornered with a question on the said plans following widespread media reports.
In an interview with The Standard newspaper, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka says he faced the former head of state directly and asked him to tell him if it is true that he is planning to leave the Coalition.
In response, the former head of state was categorical that he is not resigning from Azimio as reported by a section of the members of the political class. He even went ahead and requested Kalonzo to ignore any such reports, terming them as not true.
His revelations that he is not planning to resign comes as a boost for the Raila Odinga camp as Uhuru is said to have directly influenced many small political parties to join Azimio.
