PSG 0 VS 0 BAY: Recap of the first half as L. Messi fails to make an impact in the game

C. Galtier and his men locked horns with Bayern Munich in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 games. The last time both teams met the game ended in a 1-0 victory in favor of the Bundesliga team. The home team lined up in a 4-3-3 formation while Bayern Munich started the game in a 4-2-3-1 formation.



The away side began the game strongly as Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting fails to find the target in the 1st minute of the game. Bayern Munich continued to dominate the match as they pushed for an early lead. PSG sat back as they plan to hit the Bundesliga giant on a counterattack. Benjamin Pavard failed to score in the 9th minute.

The opening 10 minutes ended with Bayern as the better side in terms of ball possession and chances created. PSG gradually got back in the game as they tried to create a chance to hurt their opponent. Galtier’s men continued to gain confidence and searched for their first shot of the game.

The game was stopped in the 21st minute as a player was lying on the pitch. A few seconds later the game resumed with a drop ball. Bayern Munich pressed forward in the 25th minute but could not trouble PSG’s defense. Benjamin Pavard was shown a yellow card in the 26th minute for a challenge on a PSG player. The away side won a free kick in the 29th minute but could not score from it.

Both teams continued to struggle to create any goal-scoring chances in the game. The first 45 minutes ended in a goalless draw.
