Chelsea are currently battling Arsenal for the signing of star player Mudryk according to The Mirror. Chelsea has held discussions over a prospective transfer and is still hoping to hijack Arsenal’s pursuit of Mykhaylo Mudryk of Shakhtar Donetsk.
The Ukraine international, who has been a longtime target for Arsenal, has received an improved second offer from the Gunners, but Mirror Football has learned that Chelsea has spoken with Shakhtar this week about a possible transfer as they try to outbid their London ris.
The 21-year-old Mudryk has scored 11 goals in 19 games for Ukraine’s top club, three goals in the group stages of the Champions League. Mudryk, a graduate of the club’s youth team, has emerged as the star and talisman of a squad that has been severely depleted by player withdrawals over the previous year owing to the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Chelsea is currently assessing whether they can outbid North London for Mudryk, who is rumored to be interested in moving to the English capital. The Blues have high hopes for this month’s squad investment.
