The Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) that was first rolled in 2017 by the Jubilee government has been a talk in the town as education stakeholders try to put things in order.
The first CBC class is expected to start enter a new Journey of education as they proceed to the grade seven in Junior Secondary Schools. After the taskforce tasked by the President to look at issues affecting the CBC and come out with recommendations, they decided that Junior Secondary Schools will be domiciled in the Primary section.
However, speaking this evening to the journalists on the state of the government, His excellency President William Ruto has made some adjustments to the system and this evening, he has revealed the mechanisms that he has put in place to ensure that the children get the best out of the curriculum.
President Ruto has revealed that his government is hiring 30,000 teachers across the country that will meet the deficit that has been there in the education sector.
As away to improve the Competence Based Curriculum, the President said that all teachers who will be employed, have undergone the training on the CBC and are set to go as schools open for the 2023 academic year.
