Ibrahim Babaginda who is Nigeria’s foremost elder statesman has denied claims that he endorsed the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi for the 2023 forthcoming general election.
According to the report from Tribune News, it was revealed in a recent tweet by a parody account (General_Ibbro) who is the former Military Head of State that Ibrahim Babginda supported the endorsement of Peter Obi by former president of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo.
The tweet talked about Ibrahim Babaginda claiming Obasanjo was a true elder statesman and a boss in the military. The tweet added that Ibrahim Babaginda stated that he respects Obasanjo a lot and he respects Obasanjo’s endorsement.
According to the report, Prince Kassim Afegbua who is the spokesperson to the former military leader, Ibrahim Babangida denied that his principal endorsed Obi. Prince Afegbua added that Ibrahim Babaginda doesn’t have a Twitter account.
He, therefore, urges Nigerian citizens to ignore the report of the endorsement because it is not true.
