Men marry because of food

Ghanaian gospel musician Amy Newman has revealed that her husband of over 40 years fell in love with her because of her cooking.

This revelation came about when she was asked on United what she thought of Hilda Baci’s comment that Ghanaian jollof lacks flavour.

In a recent episode of United on Utv, MzGee asked Amy Newman about Hilda Baci’s comment on the Ghanaian version being tasteless compared to the Nigerian version. Amy responded by firmly stating that the Nigerian chef had misunderstood the matter at hand.

She passionately defended the unbeatable nature of Ghanaian jollof and even shared a delightful anecdote about how she prepared a magically scrumptious light soup for her husband, which ultimately led to their marriage.

Amy also expressed her concern about the declining interest in cooking among young women nowadays, highlighting that it was once considered a significant aspect of life just a few decades ago.

During the interview, Amy Newman disclosed that she discovered her talent for cooking at a young age, which ultimately led her to get married at an early stage in life. She stressed that during that time, finding a spouse did not necessitate any extravagant qualifications; all men desired was a woman who excelled in managing a household.

In response to the idea that some men marry primarily for food, she revealed that her husband was deeply enamoured with her light soup recipe and quickly decided to marry her. She said, “It’s true that some men marry because of food.

For instance, in my case, my husband married me because of light soup. I was young at the time but I was a very good cook. In our time, food landed us husbands; it was all about knowing how to cook and serving your man.”

What is the path to a man’s heart?

Throughout the ages, it has been widely acknowledged that a man’s heart can be won over by a woman who possesses exceptional culinary skills.

This age-old adage has stood the test of time, signifying that if a woman desires to capture a man’s affection, she must master the art of cooking and present him with delectable meals.

Furthermore, it implies that in order to maintain a harmonious marriage, a wife must consistently nourish her husband with impeccably prepared dishes.
