Sarkodie, the iconic Ghanaian rapper, supported his former signee Akwaboah by purchasing his new album “LightHouse” for GHC 3,000 during the album’s listening party.
On Tuesday, November 21, 2023, the ‘LightHouse’ album’s private listening party was hosted at the SOHO Bar at Accra International Airport.
It was a star-studded affair, with some of Ghana’s greatest artists and showbiz players in attendance, including Kwaisey Pee, Sarkodie, Nabil Alhassan, KOD, and Andy Dosty.
During the album’s auction, Sarkodie, who once signed Akwaboah to his SarkCess label and has featured him on most of his successful songs, paid GhC3,000 for the album downloaded on a pen drive with a headset.
Following that, the ‘Adonai’ rapper lauded Akwaboah’s work ethic and dedication to his profession. He also stated that he was impressed with the album’s musical quality.
“Akwaboah is an extremely gifted musician who I have admired for many years…I’m incredibly proud of him for putting out this record. It’s a fantastic piece of work, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone.”
The 11-track ‘LightHouse’ album, due out November 24, 2023, has “Asikyere” featuring Sarkodie, “My Darling” starring Kwabena Kwabena, and “Odo Do Me” featuring Strongman.
