Gaddafi Abdulahi, a notorious bandit who was arrested by the Zamfara State Police Command has revealed that he belongs to Yansakai group in the state, Daily Post reports. The Yansakai Vigilante group had been outlawed by the Zamfara State Government following reports of atrocities attributed to them. The Group originally started as a bulwark of defence against the activities of Terror gangs popularly known as bandits in North West Nigeria and have killed thousands and rendered millions refugees within the country.
However, the suspect while speaking to newsmen after he was paraded by the Zamfara State Police Spokesman, SP Mohammed Shehu, said that most of their kidnapped victims are always been killed after they collect huge sum of money from their family members as ransom. The suspect said, “I belong to Yansakai group and we used to kill anyone that we kidnap after they pay ransom.”
Continuing speaking, the suspect noted that he was part of the people that killed late Abdullahi Nakwada in the state. The suspect also noted that the Yansakai group has been involved in rustling of people’s cows and sheep in the communities in Zamfara State and that’s what they feed on most of the time.
