NDC in North East Region fast becoming endangered species

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the North East Region has labelled the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as an endangered species, anticipating a significant shift towards the NPP after Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s election as the party’s flagbearer.

According to the party, genuine NDC members in the region prioritizing regional development are defecting to the NPP due to their belief that the NPP surpasses the NDC in regional development efforts.

The remarks were made by Amos Walibe, the regional communications officer of the NPP, at a press conference held in Nalerigu, the North East Regional capital.

“It has become abundantly clear that the NDC in the North East Region is facing imminent extinction following the election of H.E. Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the flagbearer of the NPP. That is to say, the NDC in the North East Region is fast becoming an endangered species as their members, who want the development and well-being of our young region, are leaving the NDC in droves and joining the NPP.”

Additionally, Walibe underscored key developments the region has experienced under the NPP with Dr. Bawumia as Vice President, asserting that the region stands to gain even more if Dr. Bawumia assumes the presidency.

He admonished NPP communicators not to engage in politics of insults.

“I also want to admonish my colleague NPP communicators not to engage in the politics of insults.”
