Mr Drew calls Kuame Eugene a liar and other names as new beef starts

The ongoing feud between Kuami Eugene and Mr. Drew has flared up once more, as the former Lynx Entertainment signee has asserted that he can bully Mr. Drew to secure his rightful royalties.

According to Kuami Eugene, he was able to pressure Mr. Drew into granting him 50% of the copyright shares, highlighting his seniority in the industry and exploiting Mr. Drew’s relative inexperience. Kuami Eugene claimed that after he was unable to get Mr. Drew to give him his share, he decided to involve lawyers and managed to get his share through that.

Mr Drew has responded to Kuami Eugene following his comments on the Day Show with Berla Mundi on TV3 as to why he sent lawyers after Mr Drew on their royalties issue. Mr Drew took to his X account and responded to Kuami Eugene’s comment. In the post, he called Eugene a liar and expressed that being younger in the industry is not something he should boast of.

He wrote, “Aside from the fact that he’s a liar, who made him think being younger than someone is a flex? Jon boy.”

On the Day Show with Berla Mundi, Kuami Eugene spilt the beans about not getting any royalties from Keche for their track “No Dulling.” He also spilt the tea on how he went after Mr Drew for his cut of the royalties on “Case” because he sees himself as a big shot in the music biz and wants to flex his influence.

Kuami Eugene even brought in his legal squad, highlighting his seasoned status in the game compared to Mr Drew’s. He said, “Mr Drew might be older than me but I came before him so I can bully him. Mr Drew is like a next-door neighbour; we can vibe. After all that happened, he still called and sent me 50% of my royalties.”

What did Kuame Eugene say about Mr Drew? Beginning of beef explored

Kuami Eugene previously stated that he was solely responsible for writing the popular song ‘Case’ for Mr. Drew. He raised this issue after accusing Mr. Drew of not compensating him for his efforts in creating the song.

Kuami who said Mr. Drew had declined to respond to his messages, asked advised the ‘Case’ singer to provide a split sheet so they could both reach an agreement on proceeds from the song.

I love peace, so me, Kaywa, him, whatever is going on, let’s get it fixed. He can send one split sheet and that will solve everything. I am saying this because he has seen my messages and has blue-ticked me as if he has not seen them but the song is doing well on the market,” he further stated.

However, in a recent update, Kuami Eugene mentioned that Mr. Drew has now fulfilled his financial obligation for his contribution to the song. The talented artist, known as the ‘Rockstar’, revealed that he had written approximately eighty percent of ‘Case’ but Mr. Drew had failed to acknowledge his input or provide him with payment.

Nevertheless, during a new interview on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz with DJ Slim, Kuami Eugene shared that Mr. Drew has reached out to him and finally given him the recognition and compensation he deserved.

“He didn’t have a total knowledge of what he was doing. He didn’t know that if you put music out there without the consent of the one that wrote it, it’s illegal. So I won’t blame him. He is a brother, and I am glad he learned and he hit me up right after everything.
