A young artist from Greater Kumasi by the name of Okyere Fred Acheamfo, better known as “Jay Wilder,” won the #OrijinUntamed Kumasi Auditions after a night of breathtaking performances and unbridled ability.
At Kumasi City Mall in Kumasi Metropolis over the weekend, the #OrijinUntamed Kumasi Auditions kicked off the thrilling national talent hunt in the arts and music.
Jay Wilder’s journey to victory was nothing short of a dramatic crescendo, and his afro- and hip-hop-inspired charm left an enduring impression.
On October 27, 2023, a lineup of over 20 performers brought their A-game, but it was “Kikiki,” aka Jay Wilder, who took home top honors.
Although his performance was gripping and full of energy, it was his catchphrases that really got the crowd going and had his followers cheering him on the whole time.
All four judges (Mr. Bonez, Tubhanimuzik, Bob Jay, and Nana Kwame King) and the audience agreed that he embodied the spirit of the Orijin brand throughout his performances.
Jay Wilder won the Kumasi Orijin Untamed Auditions, taking home 8,000ghc and representing Kumasi in the national competition.
During his award speech, Jay Wilder thanked Orijin from the bottom of his heart for allowing him to do what he loves.
A total of 80,000ghc is up for grabs for the winner of #OrijinUntamed, with 8,000ghc going to each of the zone winners.
Accra’s Kona will host the next round of auditions for #OrijinUntamed on November 11, with the competition’s finals taking place in Accra’s James Town on December 1.
