Hon. Alhaji Asei Mahama Seini, the incumbent MP for Daboya-Mankarigu Constituency who doubles as the deputy minister of health has set the youth of the Wasipe traditional area on a frenzy with the commencement of his Damba Fest musical concert initiative. This is the first of its kind from a political figure of such repute and that is what adds to its ecstasy.
There is no denying the fact that music contributes greatly in the projection of a people and their culture as so many evidences abound within and outside us. The Hon. MP has therefore seen the need to not only represent the people politically but to also serve as an ambassador in selling the entire North Gonja and their culture to the outside world.
This move is what the youth have been yearning for in years to help unearth talents who are in multitudes in the district and also catapult those who have already started their musical expeditions to limelight. The concert which is christened “Alhaji Asei Daŋga Betɔ Ni Aseŋ Bewɔra Damba Fest 2023” is scheduled to be executed on the 7th of October 2023 in Daboya at the Daboya Market center.
This coincides with the celebration of the Damba Festival by the Overlord of the Wasipe traditional area, His Royal Majesty Wasipewura Anyame Mimuni Kabasaɣya I.
This special move from Alhaji Asei and his think tanks deserves our support and recognition devoid of personal sentiments since the creative industry of the entire Savannah region is on a comatose and it takes intervention of the Hon. ministers efforts and many more stakeholders to resuscitate such an industry that’s indispensable this era of modernity.
Talents from the length of breadth of the district are already reengineering their artistic armory in anticipation of this great day. This moreover tells how ready and hungry our artists are for this opportunity and with cross fingers will deliver their maximum best to the mesmerization of their fans irrespective of their ages. This day isn’t only a great day but equally marks a historic landmarks in history of entertainment in the area.
One little suggestion one may push forward to Alhaji and his team is to labour through all the obstacles before them to make this an annual concert. This would not only nurture and catapult talents to fame or only project ourselves and our culture but will also go a long way in cementing the status of Hon. Alhaji Asei Mahama Seini as the honcho of politics and influence in North Gonja Politics.
