Following his role in the APC’s victory in the most recent election, Dele Momodu, a PDP chieftain, asserted that Nyesom Wike would be unable to negotiate his way back into the PDP.
He made the case that Wike is unable to rejoin the APC since he was successful in obtaining important ministries inside the party. But he added that if he had been in control of the situation, the FCT minister would have been expelled from the party long ago.
In a conversation with Channels TV, he declared, “I think we have passed the stage of reconciliation here, Wike has jumped the Rubicon. As long as he claims to be still with the APC, he is in fact a member of the party. The plan is to keep the group under pressure while he is enjoying himself with APC. What will he be doing in the PDP if he can organise the kinds of lucrative portfolios that he can in the APC? In my opinion, he has left and doesn’t need PDP once more. However, I’m stating that if I had the authority to punish him. Even before now, I would have carried that out.
