Police PRO Prince Olumuyiwa Warns Nigerians, Reveals Punishment For Fighting in Public

The Police Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has issued a warning to Nigerians about engaging in public altercations.

In a statement posted on his official social media account, @princemoye1, Adejobi advised Nigerians that such behavior could lead to arrest and imprisonment. ;

According to Him; Nigerians should be reminded that there is a legal offense known as ‘affray,’ which refers to public fights involving two or more individuals. Section 76 of the Criminal Code addresses this issue. It means ‘two fighting’ or free for all. This is when two or more people fight in public.

It’s crucial to avoid public fights, as they can result in detention, legal proceedings, and often, imprisonment. Don’t hold the police responsible if you’re apprehended for fighting in public spaces, whether it’s on the street, at a motor garage, or elsewhere. It’s a punishable offense. Take this warning seriously.
