AmaZulu FC and SuperSport play out to goalless draw at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Wednesday night.

On Wednesday night at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in the DStv Premiership, AmaZulu FC and SuperSport United fought to a scoreless draw.

AmaZulu entered the game looking for their first victory of the 2023–24 campaign after drawing 0-0 with Royal AM in the season opening last Saturday.

After beating Richards Bay FC 2-0 in their opening game, SuperSport looked to extend their winning streak.

The visitors were the ones who had the majority of possession for the first 20 minutes and had several opportunities to score.

THE REDUCTION OF AMAZULU FC TO TEN MEN

Later, there was a lot of activity in the middle of the field but few clear-cut opportunities in either end. Thembela Sikhakhane was sent from AmaZulu five minutes before halftime for a foul on Shandre Campbell.

Asuthu came close to taking the lead in the 40th minute when Ngema got a cut-back from Ethan Brooks. The attacking midfielder attempted to score, but Ricardo Goss parried his shot.

0-0 was the final score when the game entered the half.

The hosts still engaged in combat after the interval even though they were down one player. When Tshepang Moremi entered the game in the second half, his team’s offense gained some momentum.

However, everytime they crossed the center line, Pablo Franco Martin’s men had numerical difficulties. After Matsatsantsa failed to clear the lines, Bongi Ntuli struck the post from close range in the 73rd minute.

Jabu Matsio fired a tremendous shot from outside the box ten minutes before the game ended. With his outstanding stop, Veli Mothwa prompted a corner kick. The last whistle was the only thing that separated the two teams.
