The Unconfirmed Ministerial Nominee Who Played God Is Now At The Mercy Of Those Wielding Power” Sani

Former Senator Shehu Sani, who previously represented the Kaduna Central Senatorial Zone, has highlighted the transformation of an unconfirmed ministerial nominee from a power-intoxicated figure who acted as if he were a deity while in office as governor to someone now subject to the influence of those in power.

In his tweet, the former lawmaker emphasized that Nigeria must prioritize peace and therefore should not allow religious extremists with fanatic political agendas to hold positions of power. He specifically referred to the failure of the Nigerian Senate to confirm Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, the immediate past Governor of Kaduna State, due to security clearance issues.

Shehu Sani wrote: “The unconfirmed ministerial nominee, once intoxicated with power and arrogance, is now in the hands of those wielding power. A religious extremist with a fanatical political agenda should not hold power if the nation seeks peace.”

Recall that the Senate confirmed 45 ministerial nominees sent by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, but the confirmation of Ex-Governor El-Rufai, Stella Okotete from Delta State, and Sani A Danladi from Taraba State was withheld due to security clearance concerns. Shehu Sani and Mallam Nasir El-Rufai have been long-standing political rivals, with Sani accusing El-Rufai of plotting against him. The ongoing rivalry between the two shows no signs of abating.
