The president of the 10th Nigerian senate, senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, made an announcement on what’s expected from each ministerial nominee while questioning one of the nominees who concealed all his certifications except the secondary school certificate.
The senate president said, “sir, you are not supposed to reveal only your secondary school certificate because it is the one required by the constitution to stand for election . I think all the ministerial nominees should know that Nigerians deserve to know them in totality. As a matter of fact, they must tell us their number of children and wives.”
Speaking further, senator Godswill Obot Akpabio said, “all the ministerial nominees should note that it is not only the Nigerian community that deserves to know them, the international community has a right to know their Ministers too. So, this is to remind them they are not to choose or pick what to include in their portfolios.”
Lastly, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio said, “now, I think this nominee will have to add all the concealed certifications into his file and hand it to the senate’s clerk. However, he does not really have to appear before us again. We are giving him time to do so.”
