Former France Ambassador to Ghana, Anne Sophie Avé, is leading a bold campaign advocating for some of Ghana’s top musical artists to be granted diplomatic passports. Avé passionately argues that artists such as Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Black Sherif, King Promise, Shatta Wale, and R2Bees have remarkably marketed Ghana on the global stage, surpassing the impact of some traditional ambassadors.
Avé’s call comes in the wake of the artists’ outstanding performances at various international events, including Sarkodie’s successful Jamz tour in the United States and King Promise’s awe-inspiring show at Wizkid’s event in Tottenham Sports stadium.
In a tweet lauding their efforts and contributions to Ghana’s international reputation, Avé wrote, “Ghana 🇬🇭, you should give these guys diplomatic passports: they put Ghana to the world better than even the best ambassadors could in a lifetime @sarkodie @stonebwoy @blacksherif_ @shattawalegh @r2bees @IamKingPromise.”
