Former Kitui Rural Member of Parliament and President William Ruto’s ally from Ukambani Charles Nyamai has slammed the Wiper MPs for voting against the Finance Bill 2023 despite the bill getting majority of votes.
The bill was approved by MPs for the third sitting after 176 MPs voted in its favour, while 81 MPs voted against it with 92 MPs failing to attend the voting session.
This comes hours after the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance bigwigs affirmed that the camp will be resuming protests should the bill be approved.
Taking to his Twitter account Nyamai said the MPs had let the Ukambani region down, further saying the Ukambani residents will not join in the planned protests since they are confident the Kenya Kwanza government would deliver on its manifesto.
“Its blank and white that the Kambas have moved on and no time will they be used to advance personal issues as it’s been in the past. The Wiper Party and the entire Azimio team should stop living in denial and come to realization that KK Govt is here to deliver its mandate to the people.”
