Inaki Williams and his brother Nico Williams both scored goals as Athletic Bilbao overcame Espanyol on Saturday, despite Inaki Williams’ goal drought for Ghana.
Bilbao entered the match as injured Lions after losing to Osasuna in the Copa del Rey semifinals. Similar to their previous game, they got off to a fast start but failed to make use of their opportunities.
Inaki Williams, however, calmed it down when he sprinted to receive a long pass from Daniel Garcia in the 22nd minute and then drove it past Fernando Pacheco to give Bilbao the lead.

The Espanyol goalkeeper maintained control of the situation until at least halfway despite Athletic Bilbao’s best efforts to increase the score.
Athletic Bilbao’s backline repelled the majority of Espanyol’s offensive attempts, making it difficult for them to reclaim the initiative.
Inaki Williams’ brother Nico Williams provided Bilbao more urgency up front after entering the game in the 69th minute. With a beautiful strike from the edge of the box in the 75th minute, he increased the lead.
