The Journey Of Ghana’s Black Meteors In Qualifying For The 2023 Africa U-23 Cup Of Nations.

The Black Meteors of Ghana will host Algeria in the second leg of the third round of 2023 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations qualifiers at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The indefatigable team of editors at www.atspo.com has compiled a file centred on Ghana’s Under-20 team’s journey for the 2023 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations Qualifiers.

Ibrahim Tanko, a former King Faisal Babe sensation who later joined Borussia Dortmund in 2001, was appointed head coach by the Ghana Football Association’s Executive Council on Tuesday, June 28, 2022.

Tuesday, March 28, 2023, is the deadline for qualifying for Morocco in 2023, as well as the first stage of the CAF qualifiers for the 2024 Summer Olympics men’s football tournament in France, which was originally scheduled to begin on Wednesday, September 21, 2022.

Ibrahim Tanko’s team was one of 18 teams given a bye to the second round of qualification due to their performance in the 2019 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations final tournament.

The Black Meteors won their first hurdle in the qualification for the Morocco U-23 Africa Cup of Nations against Mozambique, winning 2-1 at Estádio do Zimpeto in Maputo when Daniel Afriyie Barnieh converted two spot kicks in the 65th and 76th minutes.

Sylvester Simba and Daniel Afriyie Barnieh scored at 45 and 54 minutes, respectively, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, where Bakary Papa Gassama was the referee for the second leg, to guarantee the Black Meteors’ qualification for the third round.

The Black Meteors returned with a satisfactory score line at May 19, 1956 Stadium, Annaba, last Friday, March 24, 2023, after Abdul Fatawu Issahaku of Sporting Club de Portugal scored from a thunderbolt strike for Chemseddine Bekkouche of UD Atlético Levante to equalise.

Ghana’s U-23 first-choice goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim was the talk of the town as he saved one of the two penalty kicks effected by Algeria’s talisman Bekkouche in the first leg last Friday.

The second leg which comes off on Tuesday in Kumasi has gained maximum attention across the continent since the match will have two top scorers of the qualification being featured in the game, Chemseddine Bekkouche and Daniel Afriyie Barnieh has three goals and seems they would have a chance to feature for their countries.
