I Will No Longer Perform For Free – Ratty Bangarang

Ratty Bangarang

aloft Becoming a professional musician is a long and arduous journey. Unlike many other careers, there is no set route to success and no predefined structure to climb. As such, many musicians (at least initially) end up investing a lot of time, and money and may even end up working for free.

Though, this can be a controversial subject, many artistes across the world are now responding to the call. They are ready to take a leaf from some of the old crop of musicians and make revolutionary changes.

Talented Reggae/Dancehall prodigy, Ratty Bangarang, has on this light said that he has gone past the era of free performance, hence will no longer be available for artistes and event organizers who are not ready to pay him.

In an interview with DJ Lexis on A1 Radio’s ‘E-Zone’ show, the ‘Yah Man’ crooner stated that artistes and event organizers have been reaching out to him for his services but they are not always ready to concur with him on his charges

He said “it’s not that artistes and event organizers don’t call me. They do but they are not ready to meet my terms. I am not ready to perform at any event for free because I spend on my brand.”

He added that “I am saying this for all to hear. I paid every blogger to promote my song. I paid each blogger not less than 150 cedis. So when you see my song talked about on social media, it’s because I paid for it. So I can’t travel all the way to perform at any event for free. At least, take care of my transportation and outfit.”
