When the team won, some Baba Yara Stadium fans booed the GFA President as he passed with his retinue, while others could be heard yelling “Away, Away” at the seasoned referee.

Before the incident, there was a tense relationship between Asante Kotoko Sporting Club supporters and Kurt Okraku’s management over what they believed to be unfairly biased officiating by referees selected for betPawa Ghana Premier League matches.

Ghana’s Black Meteors qualified ahead of Algeria via a 2-1 aggregate win.
