Jerome Otchere Demands An Explanation From Henry Asante Twum, The GFA’s Director Of Communications.

A long-serving editor of Kotoko Express, Jerome Otchere, has demanded an explanation from Henry Asante Twum on information he revealed concerning betPawa and the Ghana Football Association.

The Ghana Premier League’s 2022-2023 season was blessed with a title sponsor, betPawa, in contrast to the 2021-2022 season and other seasons that had no sponsor but were fully honoured with an ultimate winner and some relegated teams.

The Ghana Football Association announced betPawa, one of Ghana’s online sports betting companies, as the official sponsor of the Ghana Premier League on Wednesday, August 3rd, 2022.

BetPawa, an Estonian online sports betting , cushioned the Ghana Premier League with a motivational initiative known as the Locker Room Bonus, a cash bonus given to a team that has won its league match.

The Ghana Football Association’s Director of Communications, Henry Asante Twum, revealed exciting information that allayed Ghanaian football fans’ fears about a betting being a sponsor of the Ghana Premier League.

The 2022-2023 Ghana Premier League began without Ashanti Gold Football Club being demoted to a lower tier in Ghanaian football after they were found guilty of a betting scandal, raising concerns among Ghanaians about whether the season’s league would be enlisted on the platform of the sponsor, betPawa.

Henry Asante Twum put all doubts to rest when he revealed in an interview with Sir Joe Laka of Kessben Media that the 2022–2023 Ghana Premier League would not be listed on the platform of the sponsor betPawa for its specified operations.

“BetPawa will not list our (Ghana Premier League) games on their betting platform,” Henry told Joe Laka on Kessben Television.

Jerome Otchere, an astute sports writer, has discovered that what the Ghana Football Association’s Director of Communications, Henry Asante Twum, told Ghanaians is false and requires an explanation.

Samartex Football Club hosted Kumasi Asante Kotoko in week 22 of the betPawa Premier League on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at the Nsenkyire stadium in Samreboi, and the fixture is listed on the betPawa platform for their customers to place a bet on the outcome of the game.

The undaunted team of editors at www.atspo.com chanced a caption on the official Twitter handle of Jerome Otchere, @JeromeOtchere, demanding an explanation from whoever said that the Ghana Premier League would not be listed on betPawa’s betting platform.

Jerome tweeted, “Please, those who said the league sponsor doesn’t list Ghana League matches on their platform, can you explain this to us? Maybe we’re so ignorant.”
