The leader of the pan-Yoruba socio-political association, Afenifere, Chief Reuben Fasoranti, has called on the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, to mostly focus on security and the economy when he assumes office.

The Afenifere leader gave the advice in a statement issued through his Administrative Secretary, Chief Oladiran Adesua, on Wednesday.

He said, “The security situation in the country has worsened over the last few years with Nigerians unable to travel freely on our roads and even railways, they equally feel unsafe in their homes and farms; Nigeria has never known this level of insecurity before.

Justice John Okoro dismissed the appeal following the withdrawal of the suit by the appellant, Margif, after discovering that the matter had become statute barred.

Counsel to the appellant, Mr Opeyemi George Ojo, had pleaded with the apex court to invoke Section 22 of the Supreme Court Act to take over the matter and resolve all disputed issues in the interest of justice to his client.

His persuasion was however rejected by the five-man panel of Justices of the Court on the ground that conditions precedent for the court to invoke Section 22 of the Supreme Court Act were not met.
