The 2023 presidential election might have come and gone, but some Nigerians are still questioning the election process, and aggrieved candidates have gone to court to seek redress. While the APC is saying that the election which saw Bola Ahmed Tinubu declared as the President-elect was free, fair and credible, others have a contrary opinion to that.
Recall that after the election, President Muhammadu Buhari described it as a free and fair process. Reacting to the recent comment made by Buhari when he said that those who are not satisfied with the result should approach the court, Rufai Oseni of Arise News said that he was excited when Buhari retracted (backtracked) his initial comment of ‘free and fair election’, and is now saying there were alleged irregularities and that those who are aggrieved by the outcome of the election should seek redress in court.
In his words, he said:
“I’m happy that President Buhari has backtracked from his initial comments about the election, which were: everything went peacefully, they were no irregularities.”
