HiThe year 2022 will be jam-packed with four academic terms and five national tests, according to the Ministry of Education ( two KCPE, two KCSE and one Assessment for pioneer class of the new competence based curriculum who will be completing Grade 6).
The national examinations for the 2021 KCPE and KCSE candidates were completed last month, while their colleagues who will progress to Grade 8 and Form 4 respectively will sit for their national examinations later this year.
This year, grade 6 students will take their first national CBC exam in December.
2022 School Calendar.
The school year in 2022 will begin on 25/04/2022 and ends on 25/11/2022.
Term 1 in 2022 will last ten weeks, from April 25 to July 1. The students will then have a one-week holiday break from July 2nd to July 10th, 2022.
N/B: According to the Ministry of Education, Form One admission will take place on May 7, 2022.
Term 2 in 2022 will run from July 11 to September 16, with a three-day half-term break from August 11 to 14. On the 17th of September 2022, schools will close for a week-long term 2 holiday break.
The third term in 2022 begins on September 26th and concludes on November 25th.
The KCPE in 2022 will take place from November 28 to December 1, 2022. Candidates for the 2022 KCSE will begin taking their final national exams on December 1, 2022.
Between 2nd and 20th of January 2023, a marking exercise will take place.
School Calendar for 2023
The school year in 2023 will begin on January 23, 2023, and end on November 3, 2023.
Beginning in January 2023, Kenyan schools will resume a nearly normal academic calendar.
Term 1 in 2023 begins on January 23, 2023 and ends on April 21, 2023, for a total of 13 weeks. From April 22nd to May 7th, 2023, there will be a two-week holiday break.
Term 2 lasts 13 weeks and spans from the 8th of May to the 11th of August 2023.
After then, learners will take a two-week holiday from August 12 to August 27, 2023.
Term 3 in 2023 will begin on August 28, 2023, and end on November 3, 2023, for a total of 10 weeks.
In November 2023, the KCPE and KCSE national exams will be held.
Answering concerns that the national examinations were compromised, the CS vehemently denied the claims.
“No one should peddle misinformation that in such and such place, there are problems. Under my tenure there will be no problems at all and will work efficiently and effectively,” he promised.
In the past, some schools have had their results cancelled because of exam irregularities while some teachers and center managers were blacklisted after being accused of aiding with exam cheating
