It’s a standing fact that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), led by its chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, has declared the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the winner of the February 25th presidential poll, having triumphed over worthy opponents like Mr. Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
This electoral process that conferred the presidency on the former Lagos State governor has been heavily challenged in court by the presidential candidates of the two main opposition parties on many grounds, namely rigging, disenfranchisement, and voter suppression in some parts of the federation.
In light of these accusations by the opposition parties, the spokespersons for the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) of the ruling APC, comprised of Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, Dele Alake, and Festus Keyamo, held a press conference on Friday where they equally alleged that Peter Obi brought in a rigging machine in some parts of the south-east and Lagos State.
Responding to these accusations by Festus Keyamo and his team on Sunday, Aisha Yesufu, a well-known socio-political commentator and member of the presidential campaign council of the Labour Party (LP), wrote, “Let’s meet in court and bring all the polling unit results and match them with what is on the INEC result viewing portal.”
