FFK Reacts As UK Newspaper Reports that Tinubu Became President in a Disputed Election

Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, a former aviation minister and director of new media for the Presidential Campaign Council of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has countered the manner in which an international newspaper reported Bola Tinubu’s victory in the just-concluded presidential elections.

The APC chieftain took to his official Twitter timeline, where he shared a picture from the UK Times that read, “Bola Tinubu, a wealthy kleptocratic godfather of politics who campaigned under the slogan “It’s My Turn,” has been declared the winner of Nigeria’s disputed presidential election.”

Speaking about this report, FFK tweeted that it could be another ploy by the opposition parties. He however maintained that the report was of little or no relevance to the Nigerian people, as they had a bigger picture to focus on.

He said, “However, after a while, the following occurred to me: so what if this was written in the Times? Of what relevance is it to us or our people? Some ignorant, barely educated, and misguided little white boy writes rubbish in the Times, and we are supposed to lose sleep over it? We have far bigger and better things to think about, worry about, and do than that.

He added, “In any case, the Times of London lost its relevance and glory years ago.” It also lost its numbers in terms of circulation and readership. “Today it is little better than a dwindling, fading, and inconsequential toe rag; it is only fit for the dustbin.”
