A Ksh637.5 million ($5 million) reward has been placed by the Government of the United States of America on Ali Mohamed Rage.
The United States of America Government announced a reward on Tuesday, February 28 for information leading to the identification or whereabouts of Ali Mohamed Rage, a major figure in al-Shabaab.
“Rage was involved in the planning of operations in Kenya and Somalia and was born in the Hawlwadag neighborhood of Mogadishu, Somalia, in 1966,” the statement stated.
Since May 2009, Rage, also known as Ali Dheere, has served as Al Shabaab’s principal spokesperson, claims United States of America Government. Within the organizational structure of the terrorist group, the suspect is regarded as a senior leader.
Rage warned Kenyan forces who had traveled approximately 100 kilometers into Somalia in 2011, according to Reuters news agency, stating that the troops had slain civilians there.
Rage then warned Reuters, “If you don’t go back, we’ll enter Kenya.”
