Raila Odinga, the leader of the time, has denied claims that he was demoted from his position as the African Union High Representative for Infrastructure Development in Africa.
While speaking to KTN, Raila emphasized that he chose not to participate because of a ton of work.
He claimed that he informed African Union Commission President Moussa Faki of his decision to resign in a conversation with him.
“There was a ton of work there, so nobody dismissed me. Both in Kenya and abroad, there was a lot of effort. Traveling constantly across the globe was a lot for me, “explained Raila.
Faki insisted that he continue, but he had decided to stop because of the workload, according to Raila.
To implement the Continental agenda on infrastructure, the NEPAD Agency has now been transformed into the African Union Development Agency, according to Faki.
“Excellency, your contribution to our trip has been inuable. Please accept my sincere thanks for agreeing to take on this responsibility during the transition time, which has now successfully concluded.”
In October 2018, Raila was appointed to the position of High Representative for Infrastructure Development in Africa.
Raila claimed that he requested time to attend to other issues that needed his attention.
