Now, today, lawyer Danstan Omari has come out to reveal the reason why Matiang’i travelled outside the country. As reported by the star news, Omari said that Matiang’i travelled to attend to an urgent family issue abroad. However, he did not reveal the country that Matiang’i travelled to. He said that Matiang’i will be back in the next two weeks.
“Lawyers for former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i have dismissed insinuations he fled the country in the face of the crackdown mounted against him by President William Ruto’s administration.” Said the reports. His statement came in at a time when there have been some allegations that Matiang’i travelled so as to evade an arrest by the police officers who had raided his home some few weeks ago.
