I Went To Look For Job And The Man Said He Wants To Sleep With Me Because He Likes Me— Oyinye Okafor

Popular Nollywood actress, Oyinye Okafor has revealed that the issue of sex for roles in the Nigerian movie industry was blown out of proportion by many people. In an exclusive interview with Punch Newspaper, Okafor stated that it is not only in Nollywood that men take advantage of vulnerable women.

She narrated that there was a time she went to look for a job before she joined Nollywood and the manager openly said he wants to sleep with her because he likes her. She noted that things like this happen in all sectors so people should stop profiling the movie industry.

“I don’t know why issues in Nollywood are being blown out of proportion. I recall that when I finished school, I went to look for a job (outside the entertainment industry) and the man said to me, ‘I like you. Let me sleep with you, and I will give you the job’. Things like that happen in all sectors.” She said.

Speaking further, Okafor stated that she disagrees with the notion that actresses don’t keep their marriages. There are a lot of divorced women in society but nobody talks about them.
