The management of Chrisland Schools has exonerated themselves of any culpability around the death of 12-year-old Miss Whitney Adediran who allegedly slumped during a sporting event on the school premises.
While consoling the parents of the student, the school noted that the said student had last month complained of being sick, and was taken home by the father, before the recent event that saw her faint and slump in the presence of people at the event.
The administration and staff of Chrisland Schools Limited are devastated and upset about the passing of Whitney Adeniran, a beloved student who made a terrible exit on February 9, 2023.
Whitney, one of our day students, declined to take part in the inter-house sports march past for unspecified reasons. In spite of this, we recognised her decision to err on the side of caution because, according to our records, she complained about her health being less-than-optimistic on January 20 and we immediately called her parents. Mr. Michael Adeniran, her father, arrived to pick her up from school and take her home. Her parents were urged by us to examine her critically.
“It is instructive to note that Whitney slumped in full front of the public and not at all under any covert conditions. Our first reaction was to take advantage of closeness by finding the closest medical institution to take her to, where the on-call doctor gave her oxygen and every other aid that was available.
We gently disagreed and underlined the necessity to create a scientific verification of the underlying cause of death as necessary in situations like this even as her family made funeral plans for an immediate burial. To enable a thorough study and assessment of the events, we quickly informed regulatory parties and agencies.
We refrained from creating a media phenomenon out of this because the deceased in question was a youngster and deserving of our undivided respect, despite the compelling imperatives to fill any information gaps in public space. Additionally, we placed a high priority on respecting the family’s privacy and regularly joined them in their time of grief.
“As parents, we really mourn this loss and are thinking of this great girl’s family and friends. As we keep upholding this moment’s sobriety. We repress any want to support causes or make her cherished remembrance a media traffic trend.
