In a recent news update posted by the Vanguard Newspaper, it was reported that all the suspect involved in the Murder of Mr Kehinde Fatinoye and almost his entire family on the 1st of January, 2023 have been caught and arrested.

According to the details of the report, the driver of the couple, Mr Lekan Adekanbi, who escaped from police custody in January was the main suspect. While being paraded by the police, he said that he decided to attack the Mr Fatinoye’s family because they refused to increase his salary and give him a loan.
Mr Lekan then planned with two other men (Waheed Adeniyi and Ahmed Odetola) to rob the family on New Year’s day 2023. They attacked the family immediately they returned from crossover night service and told Mr Kehinde to transfer some money to Ahmed Odetola’s account, but it did not work, Mr Lekan then gave his own account number and N1,102,000 million was transferred to him.
He also said that the main reason he decided to kill Mr Fatinoye and his wife was because they knew it was him through his account number.
Quoting Mr Lekan, “When I realized that my identity had been known through my bank account, I decided with others to terminate the lives of the couple. That was when Waheed Adeniyi a.k.a Koffi took a knife from their kitchen and slaughtered the husband Kehinde Fatinoye, while I used a sledgehammer to hit the wife Bukola Fatinoye on the head and she died on the spot.”
The killers also took the son of the couple (Oreoluwa Fatinoye) and their adopted son (Felix Olorunyomi) and threw them into a river, but Felix survived.
The Police later traced Mr Lekan and the other 2 suspects. His mother and his lover were also arrested for aiding him.
