MC Oluomo: Remove Lagos INEC REC, Now – Atiku Fumes

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate and former vice president Atiku Abubakar called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to immediately sack Lagos-based electoral commissioner (REC) Olusegun Agbaje. Atiku said Wednesday in a statement by Special Assistant for Public Affairs Frank that Agbaje was showing bias and compromising.

He said it was strange that Agbaje insisted on using the Lagos State Parks and Garages Management Board, run by Musiliu Akinsanya, aka MC Oluomo, a member of the presidential election council for the All Progressives Congress.

The former vice president described Agbaje’s apology as watery for INEC’s inability to use the National Road Transport Workers’ Union (NURTW) and the Nigerian Road Transport Employees’ Association (RTEAN) because of the blockade in Lagos state.

He explained: The federal government therefore had to go to court to ban the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) and the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN).

“What Gov. Babajide Sanwoool did in Lagos State was to arbitrarily announce a ban on NURTW activities because NURTW suspended APC agent MC Oluomo. Do not cooperate with a factional full of APC members working for Tinubu to promote illegal activity.

“How can such people be given confidential material that will be distributed across Lagos on Election Day?” This is already undermining the chances of a free and fair election. INEC must sanction Agbaje, who insisted on setting up a commission for MC Oluomo despite protests from the public.
