The leader of Afenifere, Ayo Adebanjo has called on the presidential candidate of APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to drop his presidential ambition for Peter Obi. Adebanjo made this known during a campaign rally held by the Labour Party in Abeokuta, Ogun state on Saturday. The pan-Yoruba leader stated that Tinubu is being deceived by those around him because he has no chance of winning the North. He claimed that the former governor of Lagos state will be disappointed by the northerners at the polls in the upcoming election.
Adebanjo described the presidential candidate of the Labour Party as the best candidate among other candidates. He urged Tinubu to save himself from the shame he is to witness and follow Peter Obi. The pan-Yoruba leader claimed that when Tinubu is finally defeated, he won’t have the courage to come back home again.
Part of his statement goes: “I have told you before that Labour Party is now NADECO. We are behind Peter Obi and we will like to advise Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to join us too. I am telling you that the Northerners won’t vote for you, come back home and support Peter Obi to save yourself from the shame you will pass through after the election. Those of us supporting the Labour Party want good governance, Yorubas do not take things that belong to other tribes.”
